firstly, congrats to those who made it to the pol-ite team! but please do not get complacent because being in the team now is not definite. you still got to work hard to keep your position. as mentioned, we have 14 players now but we only need 12 so 2 will be dropped off. so, work your arse out for one month and see your hard work pay off (hopefully). this is a rare opportunity so take it as a motivation to drive yourself even harder during training.
for the rest of the girls, not being selected doesn't mean you're dropped out of the team. you're still part of starburst and we need you girls. there's still a second/third year for you to take part in pol-ite. even though training is cut down, please continue to train hard by yourself. there are other competitions that we all can take part in. basically, don't be disheartened :)
btw, the 14 girls will be having a friendly with ntu this friday, 730pm at the sports complex so anyone who's bored/wants to watch a game can come down. for the 14 girls, just wear somthing black for attire, and get booted up by 6pm. k thanks bye.

Friday, June 20, 2008 ► coach's words passed on.
hello, i found a post that coach posted for the year 3 seniors when we were freshies just like y'all.
Hello ladies,
What you can be doing on your own
1) Fitness
2) For passing, PRACTISE and PRACTISE. practise passing BEFORE training / AFTER training
3) For better hands , try throwing and catching tennis balls at home. ( just throw agst the wall and catch)
4) You can buy/borrow a rugby ball and carry it wherever you go. You should get used to holding the ball, its feel, its smell. Develop a relationship with the ball ! That way, you'll feel very comfortable with it.
At this stage, your basics your foundation should be solid. Basics such as passing, catching, crashing up, communication.
Do focus and give your 100% during trainings. =)
Love, coachie
sigh, one day y'all will find yourself in our shoes, about to graduate and feeling very sentimental about your own history in touch. so, dont take trainings for granted, remember how you spent your time in training.
tmr's training, 830am at sports complex. track shoes and boots to be brought along. dont be late.
okay, take care, be safe, hope this post helps.

Thursday, June 12, 2008 ► NTU Touch Attack
Hi Captains,
Do forward this email to the rest of your teammates, especially the 4v4 rules because they are slighty different from our usual 6v6 touch rules - primarily touching the ground with the ball after getting touched and passing the ball off immediately, instead of the usual roll-ball with dummy half.
Kindly report to the touch attack registration booth at 1pm at NTU Sports & Recreation Centre main field this sunday, 15 June, for team registration & collection of goodie bags and singlets.
Captains briefing will be held at 145pm.
Players who are not registered with Touch Singapore are to pay an additonal $5 fee per player on top of the touch attack registration fee of $85. Only cash payments will be accepted.
See you on sunday! :)
We'll meet at 1230pm at Boonlay station and take a bus down or something. Or if you know how to get there, say! I've sent y'all the fixture so please check. Birdie, yuehao, money collected? Thanks!

Thursday, June 05, 2008 ► Changes. sorry
Hi babes. unfortuanately. yes. there are changes. the things to be discussed remain the same.
changes are, for guys, junior team will come down. meaning, jared, shakir (spell check), jiao.... basically everyone else. u know who u are. and entire senior team, still expected to be there.
seniors will get some quality time to have proper training (we really wanna use the camp to improve as a team). focus will be on working on chemistry, means knowing what ur friends like to do. And, developing a basic game plan for general situations. meaning, there's a time to play around and use our instincts. but in general, we must have structure and have a basic attking plan. sounds good to you?! last objective is to perhaps find a common playing ground with the new junior guys. we're seriously considering sending pure mens team for ntl. in that case, we must be able to play with the juniors.
for juniors, excellent time to fully perfect the basics, learn moves. and most importantly, learn STRUCTURE. lol. the magic word. yupp. dont worry all too much.
everyone just keep last week of june (weekend) free. changes are subject to coach's discression. this is just my rough idea of what the men should be doing ;)
guys, as usual, the biggest understatement: any suggestions, feedback or ideas to improve our game plan, pls let me know. haha. if not i'll assume everyone's satisfied with these ideas for the time being.
Cheers,
Caleb
(ps. juniors. i need ur numbers. pls text me, 93386632, and do state ur name. pass the word.)
